Task 2 -SOCIAL NETWORKING -FACEBOOK

Facebook is a social networking site that allows people to connect with friends,classmates,coworkers,or anyone who is also a member of the site.
Libraries have created their own library pages on Facebook to create library awareness and to function as a marketing tool.It can allow a library to built an online community.They can control over the information or the post. The most interesting part is sharing photos. Providing information about the upcoming events, council’s announcements,sharing your views about a historical event or monuments, political issues or concerns are the main postage which ,the library can make and bring the awareness within the community about their local area. Providing the information about the multiple academic resources and new data,answer patron questions including which software was available on library computers, how to renew items online, recent building changes, and information about library study spaces can bring the young audience (customers)more closer to the library. Users who are posting their personal information on the libraries homepage can bring a lot of people connect with your homepage and to the library as they are broadcasting the information amongst the community.The ability to provide good customer service via Facebook should be the aim of a social media officer(Librarian).For me, the benefits of being on Facebook is keeping myself in the loop about issues that impact my job, staying connected with my friends, colleagues and family. outweigh the risks of being on Facebook is finding time to manage my account, monitor privacy settings. For the time being, I’m keeping Facebook in my toolkit of communication and professional social networks.After I finish my study, when I will be a successful Librarian my perspective might change as i would be using FACEBOOK on the professional base for my job.
